More qualifications to be exempt from assessment
Visa applications that hold qualifications from 9 more countries may soon find a streamlined pathway to working in New Zealand. From 23 June 2025, an expanded and updated List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment will be released.
If an applicant’s qualification level and education provider are specified on the list, they do not need an international Qualification Assessment to apply for the Skilled Migrants Category and some special work visas.
It also specifies the points available for their qualification level for the Skilled Migrant Category.
The 9 countries with qualifications being added to the list are:
- France
- Germany
- India
- Italy
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Sri Lanka
- Sweden
- Switzerland
